Who We Are

Our mission reflects our passion: to shape a community in which all children can reach their full potential. It’s ambitious but the need is real.

When parents and families struggle, feeling isolated, uncertain, and disconnected is common. We often refer to our work as ‘connecting the dots’ between parents, children, and community. Those connections are made through education and support, partnering with other community resources, and using research to develop effective and innovative solutions.

We know that by strengthening parents, we strengthen the entire family and over the last thirty years, Family Futures has helped thousands of families. Parenting strength and confidence grows through programs like Connections which helps families recognize and support appropriate developmental milestones for their child, while learning how to play, interact, and nurture the parent/child bond. If developmental challenges are identified, access to additional resources is readily available.

If a family experiences challenges that represent higher risk for their children, our Healthy Families program provides personal, in-home coaching, and education ensuring children are provided for in healthy and safe home environments.

Family Futures knows abuse can be a vicious cycle, which must be broken. With RAVE (Resources Against Violent Encounters), we work with middle and high school youth, so they understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. They are able to recognize both and build their confidence in life.

Our programs and services continue to evolve in serving the needs of parents and children. While we focus on prevention, we are broadening our scope to include the impact trauma and toxic stress have on the lives of children and families throughout our community. As we move forward, we will be fully engaged in integrating a trauma informed approach in all our programs, providing social-emotional screening for children served through our programs and in building resiliency while supporting those affected.
